Back to Basics: Work Wardrobe Essentials

The White Shirt
*If you have a larger chest, I have found that this shirt works nicely to avoid "the gap" button up shirts can cause for women.  For very curvy women, local DC designer Presenza has designed a great wrap top to flatter your assets.

Work attire doesn't need to be boring, and neither do your basics.  By selecting classic, tailored items in a neutral color palette, your look will be elegant- not dowdy.  To maximize efficiency, I recommend choosing work basics in coordinating colors.  That way, all of the items will go together and will support each other as your closet begins to grow.  I guarantee you will get incredible wear out of these items, and you'll be surprised how chic they can be even paired together.  The other great thing about these basics is that they will easily transition into after-work and weekend wear when paired with more casual items in your closet.
