Cute Casual Weekend Vibes

Happy FRIDAY everybody!!! Omggg I am SO READY for this long weekend! YESSS!!!  Wishing everybody a very fun, very relaxing holiday weekend with friends and family:)  I personally am looking forward to getting cozy and comfy all weekend and catching up on some flicks, books, and girl time since it's supposed to be kinda rainy in DC.  I'm also looking forward to rocking a look just like this one all weekend long- comfy, cozy and perfect for a weekend full of nothing but chill time!:)

OK OK so as you can see I had way too much fun at the fire station the other weekend- lol there's something about a fire station that just brings out the little kid in me!  Don't you just want to climb on the truck, slide down the pole - put on the hats?!  Is that just me?!?  Oh and there's cute firefighters there so.. obvi;)  Lolllll:)

Big shout out to the Alexandria Fire Department!!! Thanks for not kicking this firehouse-loving fashionista out hahaha:)

I love a cute little pop of red to turn this outfit up a notch.  It's always a fun challenge to make a reallllly casual outfit look chic, and I think this hits all the right notes- the top is super soft and stretchy, awesome for the weekend.  A distressed jean is my favorite for my off time, and a cute pair of flat sandals are always my go-to for summer days when I'm running around and heels just won't cut it (even for me- and I'm a 4 inch heels every day kinda gal!)  I love the little gold detail on these delicate thong sandals because it dresses up the look just a touch, as does the purse.  For me that's cute-casual done juuust right:) *I found these sandals recently at T.J. Maxx, but these have a similar feel.

Hope everybody has a FABULOUS holiday weekend!  Thank you SO SO SO SO much to all of our service men and women for protecting our freedoms!  We love and appreciate you!

Big hug,
Emily xoxo

Red Hot in Alexandria

Heyyy ladies!  I'm featuring one of my absolute FAVORITE dresses from the boutique today:)  This dress is hot hot hot in the cutest, classiest way!  It's a chic and sassy little choice for a summer work dress, and dressy and fun enough to transition to a lunch date or after-work drinks.

Add simple, classic accessories and you're out the door looking chic in no time flat - the best!:)  P.S. How great are these sunglasses- so affordable and super cute! Our lil secret lol;)  *Personally I always break or lose my sunglasses so it's definitely a save vs. splurge area for me!  I got this bag last summer from Aldo, but this one is almost identical.

This dress is also super comfy and wow it really holds up! I've worn mine a million times and it looks exactly the same as the first day I got it!  *Another cool thing about this dress is that it can work all. year. round!!!  Pair it with black pumps and a white or black blazer in the fall/winter, or pair it with lighter-colored accessories in the spring/summer as shown here!  That's what I call a wardrobe workhorse!! Literally one of my STUNNING coworkers bought this dress and wore it to our holiday party in December, and I'm going to wear mine all summer long!:) Win winnn!:)

(Had to;)

Alexandria I'm obsessed with you. Why you so cute?!?

Have a great day errbody!

Lots of love,
Emily xoxo

Orange Crush

Hi Ladies!! Today I'm featuring one of my FAVORITE new dresses from Cosita Boutique.  This dress has quickly become a wardrobe go-to that I find myself wanting to wear again, and again and again:)  You know it's a good pick when you keep thinking, ok I want to wear this but when was the last time I wore it- you know what I mean!! Lol;)  No, seriously though this dress checks all the boxes for me: comfortable, cute, pretty, flattering color, great fit, and COMFORTABLE!  Love that!!  It's a little stretchy so it molds perfectly to your body, allows you to move easily throughout the day, and of course the wrap dress is every woman's best friend!! SO. Figure. Flattering. !!!  I took this baby for a lil jaunt over in Old Town, Alexandria the past weekend here's what we got up to... lol;)

How cute is this building?!?!  I love Alexandria so much.  Adorable!

You know just a perfect glamorous, chillin on the porch dress;) #wokeuplike this - lol not really j/k j/k;)

Such a cute dress! Perrrrfect for summer.  Literally throw it on with some cute pumps and a tote and you're out the door lookin' fine!:)

Hope everyone has an awesome day today!

Lime Time!

Happy Friday!!!!!!!  So it's Friday annnnd it's one of my favorite holidays today - because, margaritas, obviously;)  In honor of Margarita Christmas I'm featuring the prettiest lime green dress we have in the boutique:)  You guys this is SUCH a gorgeous dress in person- it's one of my absolute favorites and literally every time I wear it I get so many compliments on the color!  It's the brightest, most cheerful lime green and it just makes you happy:)

I wear this to work exactly as pictured with fun blue pumps and accessories that really set off the lime green.  It's a perfect combo- trust me!  These blue pumps are a WINNER- I got them years ago from Marshall's and I wear them all. the. time. You'd be surprised how much a blue shoe can go with!  These are a similar color and I think would look awesome with the dress too.

A light, perforated tote in crisp white is another great style staple for summer that goes with everything!  I absolutely adore mine and use it all the time for work (it's great for the weekend too.)  I got mine last summer from DSW, but this one is almost identical.

The earrings and cute little bracelet I'm wearing here are from Cosita Boutique too.  They're not up on the website yet, but if you're interested in them just message me:)

I bought these sunglasses in Charleston, almost returned them, and wowww I'm happy I didn't because I've been wearing them nonstop!  They're perfect for summer:)  These are a great price and very similar!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday and weekend ahead!  For me personally, I'll BRB - gotta go find a margarita ASAP;)

Cheers! Em xoxo

Sweet Tart

Y'all I am LOVING this gorgeous spring weather we've been having! Oh. my. goodness it is literally giving me life!!!  Just in time for Gold Cup this Sunday and let's pray the sun holds out!!  For my ladies attending the VA Gold Cup this year have you planned your outfits yet?  I feel like I always overthink it and then it ends up raining anyway and I really wish I wore jeans and rainboots - lolll;) But I love to dress up and any event that encourages that I am all about.  We have so many cute summer sundresses in the boutique that would all work perfectly for a horse race, polo, bridal shower/baby shower or really any classy summer affair!

We checked out Hen Quarter in Alexandria this weekend and it was SO adorable!  I will definitely be back.  Such a sweet little spot for brunchin' and relaxin' and they were really really nice there too so there's that:)

I am loving this dress for Gold Cup because it's light and breezy and comfy yet really ladylike, fun and chic.  Sometimes it can be so hot and you want a sundress that's light and airy - this is the one!  ...And it's so cute with these shoes!!!  I love a fun colorful shoe to make an outfit pop.  These are a recent find from my fave Ross (seriously they have the cutest shoes go check it out.)  This little Aldo clutch is awesome too.  As I mentioned in this post Aldo is a great spot to find cute little clutches at a reasonable price.

So this was called a "peach mimosa" which was a lil' confusing because isn't that a bellini??  Anyway it was SO GOOD! Go get one!! Highly highly recommend. A lil' sweet and a lil' tart (as you can see above) - just the way I like it!:)

To complete the look I'm obsessed with jean jackets for summer- they're just so casual, chic, and oh- COMFORTABLE!  It's always good to have an extra layer in case it gets breezy.  I've had this one from H&M for a million years and it's still a go-to.

Not So Basic

Happy Friday y'all!!! I am SO ready for the weekend and it looks like it's going to be a gorgeous one in DC!:)  Here is a fun little weekend-ready look that would work great from day to night.  This top is suuuuper super cute for evening with a really pretty and unique open back detail.  Pair it with a little denim jacket over top it and works perfectly for day too.  Then throw off the jacket and you're ready to dance the night away!

I'm obsessed with these glittery sandals- they're so pretty in person and surprisingly they go with a TON of different outfits (glitter is the new neutral- I'm starting it right here right now!;)  The little white envelope clutch pictured has been a really great buy too- it literally goes with pretty much everything in my summer wardrobe!  Love it.  I got it last year but this one is really similar (love that it comes in other cute colors too besides white!)  I'm loving this one too for more of an evening look!

I also think a little cropped denim jacket is SUCH a style staple for summer!! This white one was a great find because it gives you different options than your standard blue denim jacket would.  Most notably, you can wear it with blue jeans and avoid that Canadian tuxedo look - hehe;)  H&M has really awesome denim jackets- I bought a blue one there that I have worn for yearrrssss and I really need to replace it.  This is similar to the one I'm wearing.

I love distressed denim for the weekend.  It feels like something a little naughty I couldn't get away with during the week lol;)  So I instantly feel in weekend mode!  These are a really pretty bright blue color that's different from all of my other denim.  It looks like they're sold out, but these have a similar feel.  And finally these are a fun update on a classic aviator- rose gold!

Hope everyone has an amazing weekend! Besitos xoxo

Cheers Mate!

I don't know about you but I'm ALWAYS on the lookout for cute, work-appropriate blouses.  This top fits the bill nicely and is perfect for spring/summer.  The structured, utility-style design is dressy and polished-enough for the office, yet the lightweight material and easy fit makes it something you'll be comfy in all day long.  The best part is the gathered, elasticized waist with sweet bow belt, which cinches in the smallest part of your waist creating an hourglass figure.

Here's how I'd dress it up for drinks after work.  Is it cocktail hour yet??! #soready lol;)

Sláinte!

Boho Chic

This outfit is perfect for when you know you're going to be running around all day, and need something that is comfortable and easy, yet looks chic and pulled together.  I have been reaching for the new peasant tops in the boutique a LOT lately for these reasons, and they really are a wonderful transition piece from winter to spring.

This blouse is light and comfy and allows the kind of movement you need during an active, busy day.  It's casual, yet has just the right amount of detail to create a visually interesting, layered look.  Pair with flats for day, and throw on a fun heel to transform in seconds to a perfect happy hour or casual evening out look.

Side note: This jacket has been one of the best purchases I made last year!  It goes with EVERYTHING and I love that it's dressy enough for work.  I love it so much that I bought it in two different colors- and there are a lot of other colors available, but you know, restraint;)  Anyway, highly recommend!

Coffee Date

Happy Tuesday y'all!  I am LOVING all of the cute peasant tops we have in the boutique for Spring.  They're really cute and comfy and the best thing is you can either dress them up or dress them down.  I have a dressy-casual office environment so I pair one of these tops with a skinny jean and a fun heel and BAM I'm out the door in the morning- easy peasey!:)  A great structured jacket dresses up the look so it's office-appropriate, and also keeps me warm because we all know how cold offices can be!! (side eye!! lol:)

This look is SO SO versatile because you can easily dress it down with wedges or flat sandals too for the weekend.  A pretty, romantic blouse like this is perfect for a coffee date, brunch, or just running around town looking fab;)  *It is quite loose and blousey, so I like to tuck mine in for a more form-fitted, dressier look.

**Also I literally got a number AND a free cookie in this top so I can testify that it's cute enough for a date too!;)

Link to shop the blouse and other outfit details below.  Enjoy!
